Graphic Recording for lllustrators Workshop -                             It's your turn to Sketch

26/7/2016

There are a lot of names used to describe to Graphic Recording.
Live Sketching, Visual Facilitation, Content Illustration to name a few.
But it’s all talking about the same thing – making visual sense of thoughts, ideas and spoken words.

Our Chief Sketcher, Matt Magain has live sketched for government consultants, big business, and for top secret strategic planners. From small rooms of highly engaged stakeholders, to large corporate events.  He’s sketched on big rolls of paper, drawn on a tablet computer, and doodled on notepads.

The skill of a graphic recorder is being able to listen, process and capture content in real time.  They take visual notes, combining key phrases with illustration and offer a new way to absorb the content. Seeing and hearing messages increases retention and engagement.

Graphic Recording is dynamic, engaging and powerful.

And Sketch Videos looking to expand our Graphic Recording team.

So on Thursday, 11th August, from 6-9pm Matt will be running a Graphic Recording Training Workshop in Thornbury, specifically targeted for illustrators.

Places are strictly limited, so click here to book or follow the link

Sketch Posters

13/7/2016

When you can blog, gif, meme, podcast, vodcast, periscope – you might find yourself asking….

What’s so good about posters?
Picture
Posters very reason for being is to say ‘Look at me, look at me’!

They’re great at getting people to remember and retain information.
A sharp image, pointed remarks, a pithy tag line – the clearer you can be with your message, the more likely it is someone will remember it.
Less words. More Wow!

Humans need to communicate. And art, is communication. Posters, are smart art.

And they’re not just for sticking on walls anymore. Or sides of buildings. Or waiting rooms. They’re for tweeting. For instagraming. For putting on Facebook. LinkedIn. Pinterest. A poster can be posted.
Clear, concise, visual messaging that has a life physically and virtually.
The poster remains a cost-effective way of communicating with your target audience.

At Sketch Videos we make posters from your live talks, from your brief, or to accompany your video. In short, whatever you need a poster for, we're here to sketch it!

HNFY! (And no, it's not a typo)

Everyone went mad for the End of Financial Year (EOFY) so perhaps we need to celebrate Happy New Financial Year (HNFY).

At Sketch Videos we’ve been happy (and busy) getting everyone’s videos ready in time for the end of June. We’ve been thinking and writing and drawing and shooting and editing and recording and sound mixing and delivering on deadline.

And now comes July.

July is like January for business.

It’s that start of the new financial year where you can make plans and resolutions.
What do you want to achieve this year?
How do you want to best represent yourself and your business?
What’s the best way to showcase this?

Write a list. Talk to people. Where do you want to be in 12 months time?
(If you’re in Melbourne, I’m guessing that place is somewhere warm!)
Gather people you respect, who offer insight and creativity into what you do and brainstorm what the new financial year can bring.
Try an empathy map to really get deep into the thought-process of your clients (if you don't know what that is, ask us, we can help).

And ask yourself, what would Julius Caesar do?
(July is named after him).
He was a master strategist and if Brutus hadn’t gone all Ides of March on him in 44BC who knows what else he could have achieved?

HNFY to one and all!
