Sketchosophy™
It's no accident that sketch videos have become a wildly popular format for learning, communicating, and group facilitation. Here's why:
- Science says they work. Studies performed in the 1970s by Canadian professor Alan Paivio suggest that when we engage both the visual and verbal channels of the brain, we make stronger connections happen in our neural network: retention and recall goes up, and viewers are more focussed and more receptive to information. Our Sketchosophy™ is inspired by this scientific approach to visual storytelling.
- They’re mesmerising. People will always be fascinated by watching someone draw—whether it's on a video or live in the room. The thrill of seeing an illustration build up from scratch is almost magical, so the viewer can’t wait to see what the final illustration looks like.
- They teach without being patronising. The hand-drawn aesthetic, and the very act of seeing a hand draw, creates a dynamic of teacher and student—but not in a bad way. That hand on the screen is like a friend to the viewer. It takes them on a journey, pointing out highlights and clarifying things, all executed with the charming, frantic urgency of a mad professor.
- A good story will always hook people in. While the illustration is clearly the hero, we put a lot of effort into crafting a good story. We strive to turn your messaging into a story that hooks people, is authentic, and makes them feel something. Good storytelling is a key part of why clients are so happy with their videos.
What is Sketchosophy™?
Every one of the talented Sketch Group illustrators has their own unique style, but the end product we create is guided by our process, which we call Sketchosophy™.
Sketchosophy™ is not a rigid formula—our process is based on years of creating hand-drawn videos for clients, and is founded in science. Based on a set of demonstrated theories on how the brain processes information, we've developed a set of guidelines that we apply to each project to ensure your message resonates with your audience. |
|
This process and set of principles shapes the language, tone, style, speed, humour, production, and choice of imagery that combine to get your message across.
The difference between a video that fails to convert and one that skyrockets your sales is experience. Our Sketchosophy™ channels years of experience into a polished piece of communication that results in your message being heard and understood.
